Baby Steps, Untie My Knots!

Have you ever felt like the picture posted above?  It is as if happiness is just around the corner but something just keeps getting in the way. It ties knots in your hair and frays all of the edges around everything that is good. Well I have been feeling that way. It's not like I have been unhappy, because I have been happy.  It is that I feel insecure in a lot of aspects of my life.  I want to be happy, truly happy. The kind of happy where you laugh so hard that you cry... and then keep on laughing.

Pues, he sentido en éste manera.  He sentido feliz, pero soy falta de algo.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The POINT is that I have been winding myself and the people closest to me tighter and tighter until the string just breaks. That is when the unhappiness occurs, and it occurs in strong measures.  Well, now it is time to unwind myself!! I don't mean going crazy, I mean becoming a happier and more carefree person.  I want to trust myself and others. I want to love God and trust him as well.  I want to laugh deeper, love freer, and be myself everywhere I go.

This is my documentation of project "Baby Steps, Untie my knots."

What About Bob
What About Bob

Have you ever felt this way?  What are your techniques to untying your emotional knots?

Jar Lid Magnets DIY

I love magnets and I love making them, my fridge is covered in homemade magnets. Yesterday I made some out of jar lids.  I got the idea from a small store downtown that has some handmade stuff.  It's such an easy project that I felt it would be a crime if I didn't share it!
 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Water and Wild Horses

I love the ocean. I love wild horses. Therefore Shackleford Island is amazing :)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Me encanta el océano. Y también me encanta los caballos libres. ¡La isla de Shackleford es increíble!

I took what seems like a hundred pictures to get a few good shots. At least I'm persistent!
 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

These are photos of the wild horses, and although they are wild they are actually very used to human presence.  They didn't even seem to notice me and walked past without giving it a second thought.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Anyways, there were other things on the island that interested me too.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Estaba muchos otras cosas que me interese tambien.

Think About It.

 Would you trade this

For this?

A rise in prices is nothing compared to the extent that others are sacrificing due to its power and greed.

White Christmas

I had my first white Christmas yesterday. It was absolutely beautiful and came out of a dream. I woke up and looked outside, then started running and screaming around the house with my sister like every sane person should do on Christmas morning :)

then of course we had to make a snowman!!

so now frosty lives in my front yard :)

paint!

Well it's almost Christmas and that means I'm scurrying around trying to get all of the gifts together. This year my family and I decided to make eachother gifts instead of buying them. That made me really happy because now my creative juices are gushing out of me! Yesterday I was painting anything and everything that I could get my hands on. I painted a picture frame, coasters, my teapot, two little cups, and a tiny cream cup. Today I'm finishing a frame for a friend, painting another teapot, working on my moms present (a mosaic breakfast tray), and hopefully will start my sister's present (which I can't say in case she reads this before Christmas).

Other projects that I will be working on before school is Kurt's NC State stool, a window pane, and a few more coasters!

I am seriously in love with this blog: prudentbaby.com it's full of so many amazing practical craft ideas!

Here are the finished projects that I have pictures for:

Blahdeefrickindah!!

It's exam time and in order to allow us students time to study for our exams, there are no classes. So of course I have a major urge to do anything that is not related to studying!
So in honor of icky yucky boring studying (which I was doing... I'm really just taking a break to complain about it), here are a few links to great project ideas that I would MUCH rather be doing:

I found this idea while dreaming up my dream house. Here is an awesome way to use wallpaper that you probably never thought of (at least I didn't):

I really love coasters. I have a set that I brought back from Chile and I am so in love with them. I never thought about making my own, but I stumbled across this idea and now it's high on my to-do list:

When I go downtown I always see the cutest hair pins in the world and they are always very overpriced. I thought to myself "I could definitely make that on my own." And so I did. I can't show them right now because they are presents (SHHHH) but I will show you another idea that I found for making a different style of cute hair pins:

I LOVE mosaic things. I want to collect broken glass and stones and ceramics and anything that I find so that I can make my own. I found this how-to while browsing and I fell in love.

I am in love with Moorish art, the way that tiles are used to decorate houses in Morocco and southern Spain are just beautiful. Take a gander at this site:

Those are the things that I'm obsessed with right now. Now back to studying...
